Rising Gems is a unique collaboration between ten of the UK’s most innovative and directional young jewellery
designers, including SHO Fine Jewellery, Missoma, Ana De Costa, Assya, Francesca Sibylla Augusta FSA,
Ornella Iannuzzi, Sabine Roemer, Leblas, Carla Shanks and Annina Vogel.
Recognising the need to celebrate emerging UK jewellery talent, this group boasts an impressive portfolio of
achievements, including both the UK and Italian Jewellery Awards, as well as acclaimed commissions from the
likes of Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, and Swarovski’s ‘Runway Rocks’.
The ten designers will be creating a one-off ‘Rising Gems collection’ in celebration of Coutts
London Jewellery Week 2009, sponsored by ENLIGHTENED - Swarovski Elements, and
showcased exclusively in the new Jewellery Room at LIBERTY from 8th-14th June.
Each designer’s creation has been inspired by a different worldwide project of UK conservation charity the
World Land Trust. Fighting to protect critically endangered habitats around the world, the
Trust’s projects range from the elephant corridors of India, endangered orang-utans of Borneo to a coral reef
project in the Philippines and a percentage of the proceeds raised by the collection will be donated to the
individual projects.
"I have been enormously inspired by the progress of the World Land Trust in halting
some of the destruction of the world's wild places. WLT gives absolutely everyone an opportunity to get involved
and take personal responsibility in a really positive way."
